One of the chaps who packs your boxes on a Thursday is called Grant.
He’s 19, and originally from Texas. He’s clearly been very well brought up. Immaculately polite and a truly fabulous member of our growing team, Grant is the definition of a Southern Gentleman.
The reason I mention him is that he came to mind when I thought about what I wanted to write today, my last email of 2025.
And that’s because Grant has this lovely habit of saying (think Texan drawl now) -
“I appreciate you.”
Which is what I want to say to you this Christmas.
Because I really, really do. And it’s not just me who appreciates you.
It’s all of us.
Everyone who works at, or with, Wylde.
Everyone in our office.
Everyone in our warehouse.
The van drivers. The cleaners.
The folk who create the Wylde Times. (And the kids who deliver it for a bit of extra pocket money.)
The suppliers of the boxes and the ice packs and the Reynard* stickers and those funny little bits of papers that the eggs get wrapped in.
The makers of the silly videos, and the chap who takes away the mountains of wooden pallets that we get through each week.
There's so many more besides.
And that’s before we even get to those incredible Wylde producers.
Because your custom is genuinely changing their lives. You give them agency. You give them just reward for their work. And, as a result, their pride in what they do is being restored. I’m watching that happen week on week, month after month, and it is beyond heartening.
Wylde for me has always been – and will always be – so much more than a business.
Together we are changing the way that food in this country is bought and sold, and I simply could not be more grateful.
I appreciate you.
Nick
PS – if you want to get in the mood, you could do a lot worse than this playlist.
*Reynard tells me he has big plans for January. Buckle up….
