I’m not a religious man.
But I do love this time of year.
It’s about renewal, and it’s about life. It’s about celebrating the things - and the people - that matter.
And at the very heart of it all?
Food.
Glorious food.
In a world of pain and anger, a world so currently wracked and wounded by division and hatred, the act of breaking bread with other humans matters even more, doesn’t it?
Food has this incredible capacity to bring us together.
It’s The Great Unifier.
Because the truth is that sitting down to eat great food with great people makes us happy, doesn’t it?
And we could certainly do with a little more of that right now, couldn’t we?
So I do hope that - whoever you are, wherever you are, whatever you might or might not be celebrating, and whoever you might be breaking bread with - this Sunday is first and foremost a happy one.
