Wylde about….The Greatest Love of All.

Wylde about….The Greatest Love of All.

Like Whitney, I believe the children are the future.

But then again, who doesn’t?

Probably no one - although you’d be forgiven for thinking otherwise considering the fact that, as a generation, we’ve stopped teaching our children to cook.

Because these days, if your parents don’t cook - and if they don’t teach you how to cook - then your chances of learning how to do it are very, very limited indeed. It’s certainly not on the school curriculum in any meaningful way.

We must be the only mammal in the world that doesn’t as a matter of course teach its young how to feed themselves, and I find myself getting more and more exercised about that.

Knowing how to cook is both liberating and empowering. It’s also key to physical and mental health, and it makes the act of eating significantly more joyful as well as easier on the wallet.

Thankfully, there are still some kids out there who like to cook. And, honestly, they’re my heroes.

That’s why I’m writing today.

If you have a son, daughter, niece, nephew, grandson, granddaughter, godchild, kid-down-the-road who cooks, then I’d like to hear from them.

What I’m after is no more than a couple of lines about why they like cooking, what they like to cook, their first name and their age.

They can be any age up to 18, and they or you should just please ping me at nick@wylde.market. Their cooking doesn’t need to be fancy or sophisticated, just real.

Everyone who writes will get £15 to spend on this week’s market and a small selection will also feature in the next edition of the Wylde Times.

Have a great Sunday,

Nick
