Wylde about....Txokos.

Wylde about....Txokos.

Txokos - pronounced ‘chocos’ - are Basque. They’re basically clubs where groups of blokes get together to talk about food, prepare food, cook food and eat food. No doubt the odd bevvy is taken too. I was thinking about txokos recently, as that description also sums up a large part of my relationship with my Dad. It’s what we do together. It’s how we hang out. Along the way - as must surely be the case in the txokos too – we drunkenly put the world to rights. (If only we could remember all those amazing ideas and solutions the next day…) Until I learned about txokos, I never really thought that any other men had this sort of relationship with each other. But it turns out that lots of you do, too – mates, brothers, uncles, cousins and Dads. And that has been an especially pleasant discovery. Anyway, it’s Father’s Day next weekend. If you’re lucky enough to still have your Dad and have a good relationship with him, send him a Wylde box. Drop us a line at questions@wylde.market with your message to him and we’ll send you a code for free delivery to his house. We’re expecting to have new produce in the form of sustainably fished Poole Harbour cockles and clams this week, so get in there early if you fancy some. I think they’ll go fast. Nick PS - look at the pink oyster mushrooms that are growing at Robbie’s place! These should be available to buy on Wednesday too…
