Wylde about....Blackberrying.

Wylde about....Blackberrying.

Lady Bracknell’s infamous bellow was ringing in my head on Thursday evening.

I’d cycled home and a handbag - or similar - was just what I needed.

Because, suddenly - at least where I live, there are blackberries everywhere: ripe, ready to go and in seemingly endless quantities.

This isn’t yet the case in every part of the country, for sure.

Visiting producers in the South West last week, I noticed they’re maybe a couple of weeks behind; not yet quite ready. But they certainly will be by the end of July. And that’s still really early, no?

Weren’t blackberries always an early September/Back-to-School thing?

I’m certainly not complaining. In fact, my plan is to go and pick some this morning so that I can blend them with Matt’s kefir for some super-quick breakfasts this coming week.

Lady Bracknell’s creator, Oscar Wilde, might have had his bunburying.

But this Wylde, right now, is all about the blackberrying.
