Seen any deer recently?Unless you live in – and never leave – a big city, the chances are that you have.They’re everywhere. And, while they might look cute, they’re a real problem. It’s because there’s too many of them - 2 million plus, and rising. (The population’s not been that high since King Billy & The Normans turned up back in 1066.) These wild deer have a hugely negative impact on all sorts of flora and fauna. Take, for example, the humble dormouse. She depends on brambles for both her food and shelter. But the deer are eating them all. So the deer need managing. And if we’re going to manage them, then surely we should be eating them?
